I get to be the heroine in the first melodrama of the summer up in Cloudcroft because I was in the right place at the right time. It may not be real theatre but it's about as close as we get here. Also get to play Judy Garland in the celebrity murder mystery for the Kiwanis club. Might be fun. Wish we had more than a month to work on it though. Oh well... we'll do what we can.

when you don't want to come back. Of course it didn't help that most of you that I saw while in Indy didn't really want me to leave either. I appreciate that. Thanks to dayzdark for another wonderful party, and for giving up your bed to a very travel weary person. All together I had too much fun. There were only a few instances when I didn't find myself beaming because I felt like I was finally home again. Didn't get to RP as much as I wanted due to said weariness but all things considered I had a lot of fun. Wish I could have spent more time with one person but hopefully that will be remedied in the spring. Didn't go ice skating this time due to weak ankle concerns but did get out bowling and saw people I haven't seen in years and watched Wall-E and bought dice, so overall the trip was pretty productive. Only problem is that now I'm really homesick. And I really miss people again. But now I have different choices to make when I move back. We'll see what comes of that. Anybody want to have lunch in Lafayette on June 27th? I might be coming back for my cousin's wedding. :)
Think that's all for now.

so I will be going to a martial arts seminar (don't know if that's accurate considering it's completely participation, but it's called the Ruidoso Roundup & that's a bit too southwest for me) the first weekend in October. Mom thinks it will be therapeutic & is therefore helping with the associated costs. Thank goodness. But hopefully I'll be able to get in some sort of shape other than round & pudgy by then.

I auditioned for a movie but I doubt I'll be cast as anything. There's some nudity in the picture so that made me a little hesitant to begin with. Still, I could take some vacation time from work & get paid for the movie on top of that. Wouldn't that be lovely? Still need to get back to the lady at the college on the community ed thing. But I haven't had any brilliant ideas & I keep getting caught up in my non-life.

Today we have Cottonwood festivals in two places, Alamogordo & Cloudcroft. Also planning on hitting one of my friend's exotic pet shops. She's having a baby in Dec. after years of trying, so I'm really excited for her. Mom also wants to see the new Hastings that opened earlier this month. It's new & shiny & doesn't seem to fit in Alamogordo.

In sad news, the mother of my babysitter from when I was little just passed away. Wish I could go to the funeral, she was like another grandmother to me. Have to be content with sending flowers or something though. She was a phenomenal person.

Think I'll go try to cheer up & wake up now.

most of us probably don't take UFOs too seriously.. in Roswell they definitely do..

we didn't actually stay for the parade since it wasn't until 9 pm but we got into the UFO museum before the hordes of people arrived & I got a bunch of free stuff at the airfield where several planes were on display..

just to give you an idea of how much the town revolves around the promotion of these theories, here are a few pics..

a poster at the space-themed McDonalds (there was no way around the glare)
a local cafe near the UFO museum (I did get shots of each panel along the building so sooner or later they'll be on my website)
and a rather humorous display inside the museum

if I'm still around next year I want to stay for the parade since the strangest clothing additions I noticed outside the community theatre presentation were alien-shaped sunglasses & alien antennae.. those aren't so great for pictures..

somewhere in between Elkhart General Hospital & the New Mexico Brain Institute the MRI films of my brain have gone missing. UPS has a name that no one at NMBI recognizes & a delivery date of June 12th. Tomorrow I will have proof of delivery in my hands & be on my way to the NMBI to try and discover where my brain is. Otherwise I have to pay around $100 for EGH to make new films. How annoying.
